If you are seeking a legitimate work from home job, you may want to consider working with a collection agency. This page offers information about becoming a representative for NorthStar Technologies (a collection agency specializing in collecting bounced checks).
NorthStar Technologies is an Oklahoma based collection agency, though its representatives do not need to live in Oklahoma. NorthStar specializes in collecting "bounced" checks for businesses throughout the United States. It can also work most other debt problems for large and small companies (businesses can outsource their collection letters or use NorthStar's accounts receivables collection service).
A NorthStar rep creates his or her own client base for this collection agency, and this can be done with any U.S. company. The size and location of companies do not matter. NorthStar's collection service for bad checks is very attractive to businesses because it is completely free and because it pays businesses an additional bad check "rebate" on each collected NSF check from the state bad check fee (i.e. NorthStar's check recovery service is paid for by bad check writers).
Section 1 of 3
NorthStar reps NEVER collect bad checks or other debts. They bring together NorthStar and businesses located throughout the United States and are then paid for every collected bounced check or other debts businesses submit to them.
NorthStar takes new reps through an on-line training session and then reps are ready to begin working with merchants. NorthStar is not hard work, but it is work. It is also something that requires a bit of patience as you are establishing a client base. If you are a motivated and dedicated individual, the collection field can provide a great income opportunity.

COMMON QUESTIONS:
Is this some type of MLM?
No. NorthStar is a bad check collection service that is completely free to businesses. It makes its profit off bad check writers.
What work would I do?
You literally give away NorthStar's free check collection service to businesses. You may sign up businesses using the Internet or with a paper-style sign-up form.
Are there any hidden costs for NorthStar's representatives? Do I buy my way in?
No; you pay nothing to be a check recovery agent.
What are the job requirements for this position?
Patience,
self-motivation, good people and
organizational skills (a college
degree is not required).
Excellent customer service is a must with NorthStar. You will also need a computer and regular Internet access. If you are looking for a "get rich quick scheme," NorthStar will not be the right choice for you.
How would I find potential clients?
Start with your local
area.
Pizza shops, mom and pop stores,
bowling alleys, and convenience
stores are all good locations to
begin. You might also check with
medical offices, dental offices,
newspapers, etc. Check with your
local vets as well. Even your local
bank is a possible client - it may
be interested in NorthStar's service
for "charged
off checking accounts" or
outsourcing its "collection
letter" needs. Your local city
government may be interested in a
collection agency service for
parking fines and unpaid tickets.
Many
schools need a collection agency.
Landlords and apartment managers
often need a collection agency
as may your local
library for lost and overdue items.
NorthStar will also process
accounts for
payday loan businesses that get bad
checks. Even your
local jail may be interested in
NorthStar's collection agency
services. Your local banks and
credit unions may have an interest
in collecting on "charged
off checking accounts" (these are
also known as "demand deposit
accounts"). Your medical doctor
as well as your dentist surely needs
a
collection letter service.
NorthStar even offers a
collection agency service for missed
medical appointments. The "sky
is the limit" as far as businesses
that need collection agency
services. Even
credit card processors may need
an outside collection agency like
NorthStar.
Are their competitors in the check recovery business?
Yes. This is a competitive industry because it is a rich source of income, but there is plenty of business for all. Millions of businesses take checks--some think about 20 million U.S. businesses accept checks. Prospective clients can be found in just about every part of the United States. Also, NorthStar's bad check collection service is so good some businesses leave their current nsf check collection service to sign up with NorthStar.
Must I create a web site or will the company give me a web site?
No is the answer to both questions. NorthStar has a professional web site suitable for all prospective clients and NorthStar supplies representatives with an appropriate e-mail address. Some reps like an easy to use site such as http://www.collectitquick.com. If this is your desire, please let me know so I can discuss this with you.
Each representative receives an
individual rep I.D. number. This
number is used when you sign people
up using the Internet or when using
a
paper agreement and it is
NorthStar's way of identifying you
with your clients.
How much is the pay?
This depends upon how many bad checks are submitted by your clients. Each representative receives a portion of the state bad check fee on each collected check (an average is $3.00 per check).
In addition to bad checks, many
businesses also have another type of
debt: accounts receivables.
Representatives receive a percentage
of these collected accounts as
well. On accounts receivables
contingency collections where
NorthStar keeps 35% of the recovery
amount, reps get 15-20% of
NorthStar's share. Consider the
following example.
A company has $100,000 in
receivables debt that NorthStar
collects. NorthStar would remit
back $65,000 to the business and
keep $35,000 for its work. A rep
would make 15-20% of NorthStar's
share on this one account (i.e.
$5,250 for a 15% commission or
$7,000 for a 20% commission. A
representative's percentage depends
on how many accounts he has). There
is money to be made in the
collection of bounced checks, and
there is a lot of money to be made
in accounts receivables collection.
Many businesses need a bad check
collection service as well as
accounts receivables collection.
How long before I get a paycheck?
This depends upon you. It would be your job to find and sign clients for NorthStar. NorthStar collects on these accounts and then representatives are paid twice per month.
What if I want to leave some literature with clients?
NorthStar will supply you with some literature for FREE when you become a representative. If you wish to use more than what they supply, it is available at a very low cost. Corporate literature maintains a uniform presentation, addresses legal issues, and assures professional quality.
Section 3 of 3
If you believe NorthStar is right for you, you need the representative agreement that I can provide by e-mail. Before I send the rep agreement I ask you to do two things.
1. Find 25 businesses in your community that take checks (your list should involve local stores, not national chains).
2. Let at least ten of these places know you are thinking about becoming a collection agency rep and ask the owner/manager if you could come back at a later time and talk to him/her about a free bounced check recovery service if you become a representative.
If these two things go well, feel free to request the rep agreement by letting me know you have read the information on this page (if this link does not launch your e-mail program, you may use cjackson@collectitquick.com to contact me). I will send out the agreement with easy to follow instructions. Once NorthStar's agreement is filled out and faxed to NorthStar, you will be offered a choice of training times. Upon receiving the rep agreement NorthStar will provide you with a packet of information to help you begin. After the training session you will have all the basics and be ready to go. When questions and problems arise, I will help you. You also get my rep helps page to help you establish your own home-based business.
Best wishes in your search for home based employment.
